A Manager Should Know How to Manage Their Behavior

False stories, lies, deceit, jealousy, envy are words that come to mind when I think of you. You were my manager; someone that I should have been able to look up to. A leader? Yes, you carried the title, but your actions were not always becoming of a leader. A lack of professional boundaries, buddying up with subordinates, and questioning my innocence when I would inquire about things. You smiled in my face like you were proud of me, but you turned out to be a snake. You made up stories in an effort to try to one up me when I would tell you about exciting things taking place in my life. Did you think this was a game we were playing? You saw the potential in me and felt I was a threat to you. I didn’t want your position. My time at the company was for a reason and I learned several lessons. Why would you even stoop that low to have your husband start pranking me on my cell phone? That is just ridiculous. Who does that?! You made up lies to your manager and had her “sneaking” in on me. You further made up lies to try to get me in trouble with higher ups in the office. The way I performed my job in excellence must have come across to you as a threat. At the time it was happening, it wasn’t clear to me what was going on, but eventually I started to see right through you. I can’t believe you would even act like that. Poor example of a wife, mother, person, and manager. I knew when my time there was up. Thank you for the lessons.
